HOW TO SUBSCRIBE
Anyone may join the list by sending an email to acoustic-ecology-request@sfu.ca with subscribe as the the subject header.
HOW TO POST
To post a message, once you have subscribed to the AE list, you send your message to: acoustic-ecology@sfu.ca. Note: you must post messages to the list from the same e-mail address which you used to subscribe.
HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE
If you want to remove yourself from this mailing list, prepare and send the following message:
To: acoustic-ecology-request@sfu.ca
Subject: unsubscribe acoustic-ecology
Leave the body of the message blank.
You will be sent a confirmation email. To complete the unsubscribe process, click Reply in your email client and send the reply. Do not edit the subject line. You will get an email to let you know if the unsubscribe operation was successful.
PLEASE NOTE. You must send this message from the same e-mail address that you used to subscribe to the list. If you find you are having trouble subscribing or unsubscribing, please send a message describing the problem to wfae.listserv@yahoo.ca.
If your e-mail address is going to expire, or you plan to change addresses, it's very helpful to unsubscribe from the old address, or notify wfae.listserv@yahoo.ca of the change. Otherwise our mailbox gets cluttered with error messages when the system tries to forward messages from the mailing list to your expired e-mail address.
If you find you are having trouble subscribing or unsubscribing, please send a message describing the problem to wfae.listserv@yahoo.ca.
Special Note About Posting Attachments To List Messages:
The sending of attachments to the Acoustic Ecology list is not allowed. This policy will have to be adhered to on a voluntary basis, as we have no easy way of disallowing attachments at the server end. We only have the option of disallowing specific addresses from posting to the list, but we would hope that, after a warning, members would not send attachments a second time.
So we would ask you: PLEASE DO NOT SEND FILE ATTACHMENTS TO THIS LIST. If you have a PDF or other document to which you wish to draw the membership's attention, please upload that document to a web page and then point users to the URL address -- this is standard discussion list protocol. Or you can ask for members to let you know if they would like to be e-mailed the document by you personally.
