The WFAE Board addresses issues of common concern to its Affiliate members. It also oversees committees that provide WFAE services such as the Journal Editorial Committee that coordinates the rotating publication of Soundscape: The Journal of Acoustic Ecology between Affiliates. Individuals who belong to a regional Affiliate organization may serve on WFAE committees. The World Forum for Acoustic Ecology has evolved, since 1993, into a world-wide collective of affiliated organizations who share a common dedication to the study of the acoustic environment. This association is administered by a board with one voting member elected from each Affiliate.
